Remember to play well, stay fit and have fun!

Rules of Conduct

Throughout the season, keep these guidelines in mind:

  1. Anounce absences. Always let your convener know in advance if you cannot attend a scheduled game.

  2. Arrive for all games in plenty of time. Plan to be at the pitch a half hour before the scheduled start. This allows you to prepare for the game properly - stretching, finding your position, putting up nets etc. -

  3. Always warm up before games. Warm up for 10 or 15 minutes by doing stretching exercises before starting to play. This has shown to help prevent injury. Also, warming up is more important as we push the age envelope. Bring your own water jug and drinks lots of water, especially on hot days.

  4. Help manage your team. Help your convener by volunteering for a position such as team captain, vice captain, social representative, equipment manager.

  5. Help with the nets. Help putting up and taking down the nets and corner flags.

  6. Announce your vacations early. If you will be away on vacation tell your convener as far ahead of time as possible then remind him every week until you leave. Conveners keep track of 16 players and it's easy for an advance notice, though much appreciated, to be overlooked.

  7. Check for messages. If you are on email, check your email every couple of days. If you have a team message, reply that you have received it unless requested otherwise. If you are not on email, try to make arrangements to get on. Help within the club is available.

  8. Visit www.botsc.ca often. Visit the club website regularly for breaking information on club news, schedules, special events, the club constitution, and more.

  9. Attend social events. It helps the club financially if you attend as many social events as possible.

  10. Support your team sponsor. On scheduled sponsor nights and after Sunday games, visit your team sponsor's premises. While there, make sure to mention to your waitress or to the owner that you are from the club.
